MUSIC AND DANCES OF SPAIN

(Premiered at the Bakersfield Civic Light Opera January 1995)
A richly textured program portraying the variety of dance throughout the many regions of Spain. Rarely seen Spanish Classical dances intermixed with Zarzuelas (Spanish Light Operas), bold athletic regional folk dances of the North influenced by France, Germany and Ireland and of course the fiery passion of traditional Flamenco Dance come together in this program.

FUEGO y GRACIA (FIRE & GRACE)

Clarita and The Arte Flamenco Dance Theatre bring to the stage "Fuego y Gracia" (Fire and Grace). This new show demonstrates the bold passionate feeling and fire of Flamenco Dance, laced with its origins of Indian and Arabic music. You are then whisked mystically away with the decadent beauty of the Spanish Court dances displaying all of its grandeur and elegance. Fuego y Gracia is an exciting passage of dance history blending the cultures and music of India, Africa and Spain.
