The Arte Flamenco Dance Theatre, was created in 1989 by Clarita,
"La Clara". It is a fifteen member company consisting of
eleven dancers and four musicians. The company performs rarely seen
and presents beautiful renditions of spanish classical/regional folk
dances, and also a passion filled, fiery presentation of Flamenco
dance.
Arte Flamenco's
musicians, consist of four (4) outstanding and highly accomplished
professionals. Each, on his own, has several CD's on the market
which are also distributed internationally. They have performed
with Tony Bennett, John Tesh, and Struntz & Farah. These musicians
have also created music for other dance companies such as the Joffrey
Ballet and LINES Dance Company.
Arte
Flamenco's Dancers are highly trained professionals with extensive
dance backgrounds. They have all studied in Spain with leading Flamenco
and Spanish Classical teachers; Paco Romero, Juana Amaya, Maria
Magdalena and Merche Esmeralda. All of this talent comes together
on stage creating a powerful display of the dance.
Based in Los
Angeles, California, the company has performed in universities throughout
the United States, including the University of Tennessee, University
of Kentucky, University of Idaho, and Boise State University, just
to name a few. Arte Flamenco has also performed at various festivals
